CBD: What Is It And Why Should I Try It?

CBD or Cannabidiol is a cannabis compound with amazingly effective medical benefits, but without the psychoactive components brought about with THC compounds.

Plain english: CBD doesn’t get you high, but is recommended for anyone dealing with a wide variety of medical ailments such as inflammation, pain, psychosis, anxiety, seizures and much more.

CBD is most commonly administered by tinctures or sprays made by diluting the pure hemp CBD oil into an alcohol or other natural oil base. cbd-tinctureCBD liquids have awesome benefits. They usually offer a smaller serving of CBD, from 1-20mg per serving, which is enough for most people. They also come in a variety of flavors, and vary in potency.  Like any cannabis product, it’s important to try things in the smallest recommended dose, before                                                                            trying something stronger.

HOW DOES IT WORK, THOUGH?

Let’s get science-y.

Both CBD and THC interact with cells within our bodies by activating the cannabinoid receptors. Without getting too technical, we can say that these receptors are responsible for transmitting signals within our bodies, giving us different physiological effects.

CBD’S EFFECTS INCLUDE:

RELIEF OF PAIN AND INFLAMMATION

ANTIPSYCHOTIC EFFECTS

REDUCES ANXIETY

HELPS TO FIGHT CANCER

RELIEVES ANXIETY

TREATMENT OF SEIZURES AND OTHER NEUROLOGICAL PROBLEMS

RELIEVES NAUSEA

CAN HELP COUNTERACT THE EFFECTS OF THC (so you don’t get too high, which can be uncomfortable for some folks!)

As a chronic pain patient myself, I can attest to the fact that CBD products assisted me in eliminating all opiate pain medications.  I went from 2 ER visits a week, to only one in a year.

Some studies have even shown that CBD can give some relief for those trying to quit smoking cigarettes, insomniacs, diabetics, those suffering from fibromyalgia, mad cow disease (seriously), and crohn’s disease!

There really is nothing to lose when trying out CBD products.  With virtually no side effects– relief is in sight.
